We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information MatchDay Rush ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit matchdayrush.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. MatchDay Rush is an independent, fan-built site about the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is not affiliated with FIFA.

Who we are

MatchDay Rush is a free, fan-operated website providing World Cup fixtures, standings, statistics, editorial content and interactive games. You do not need an account to use the site.

Information we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. We may collect:

• Usage and device data. When you visit, our analytics provider records anonymised information such as the pages you view, approximate region, browser and device type, and how you reached the site. This is collected via cookies only after you consent (see our Cookie Policy).
• Prediction League data. If you play the Prediction League, we store the display name you choose, a random anonymous identifier generated in your browser, and the match outcomes you pick. You are not required to provide your real name, email address or any other personal detail, and we recommend you do not choose a display name that identifies you.
• Information stored on your device. Some features — your Prediction League identity, your cookie choice and your quiz results — are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to us.

We do not ask for or intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we do not require you to register, log in, or provide payment details.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• operate, maintain and improve the site and its features;
• understand which content and features are popular, in aggregate;
• run the Prediction League and display leaderboards using your chosen display name;
• keep the site secure and detect abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies that help us measure traffic and usage trends. We load analytics only after you give consent through our cookie banner, using Google Consent Mode. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party providers to run the site:

• Google Analytics (Google LLC) — website analytics.
• Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.
• Supabase — database hosting for features such as the Prediction League.
• football-data.org — source of match fixtures, results and standings.

These providers process data on our behalf or supply data to us, and each maintains its own privacy practices.

Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may share information only:

• with the service providers listed above, to operate the site;
• if required by law, regulation or valid legal process; or
• to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the site.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct or delete it, and to object to or restrict its processing. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and the right to delete; we do not sell personal information.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's settings. Prediction League entries are retained for the duration of the tournament and may be removed afterwards. Information stored in your browser remains until you clear it.

Children's privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Our providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information during such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "last updated" date above when we do, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
